AI Is About Intellectual Property TheftWebmasters are feeling the pinch from AI stealing their intellectual property and giving nothing in return.

More and more webmasters are voicing their concern about AI scraping data in the form of articles and proprietary information to provide search results that bypass the search result process that has been the mainstay of the Internet since its beginning.

Since the beginning of Internet time, computer users have found what they are looking for by using a search engine that delivers results ordered by their relevance to the nominated search string used. Over the years we have seen many new brands of web search, with some specialising in specific fields for more refined research.

For the general public, there are several main web search services, and most of them are now providing articles based on the search terms as the #1 result that appears before any other results. Those articles are fabricated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) based on data scraped by their bots.

While those articles may look comprehensive and well written, those with knowledge about the subject in question are finding misinformation, which is understandable when considering that the data is still based on a ranking system that has been exploited by websites and crippled by algorithms designed with criminal intent.

But it's not the inaccuracy of AI articles that is crippling internet infrastructure. The bigger problem is that the general public has been led to believe that AI can be trusted, and that they may no longer explore the other search results for those links to be of any benefit to the owners of such intellectual property.

The overall result is THEFT on a grand scale because not only is AI not giving any credit for the intellectual property scraped from our websites, but it is undermining the very infrastructure of the web.

Where does the stupidity end?

Man has always been his own worst enemy. Similarly, it looks like search engines are as stupid as they come, because why else would they, after managing to control web results and favour their own PPC ad clients, be so stupid to provide AI results that will kill such a profitable recipe?
